On this 3-day safari, you will embark on an unforgettable adventure in Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve), one of Africa’s largest and most pristine wildlife destinations. Throughout the trip, you will have the opportunity to explore diverse landscapes and witness a wide variety of wildlife in their natural habitat, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and crocodiles. This safari offers a unique combination of activities, including exciting game drives and a scenic boat safari along the Rufiji River, where you can observe wildlife from a different perspective. You will be traveling in a private, comfortable 4x4 Toyota vehicle, equipped with free mineral water to keep you refreshed during your journey. For the entire trip, you’ll be accompanied by a professional guide who will ensure a safe, informative, and memorable safari experience.
You'll be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar in the afternoon and transferred to the airport for your 4:00 PM flight to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve). Upon arrival at Mtemere Airstrip, your guide will meet you for a quick briefing before heading to the park gate for check-in. From there, you'll kick off a scenic sunset game drive, with chances to spot elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, and more as the day winds down. The evening ends with dinner and an overnight stay at Mufasa Tented Camp.
Once you're done with breakfast you'll embark on a full-day game drive through Nyerere National Park, taking time to explore various landscapes and track the park’s diverse wildlife. In the evening, you will do a sunset boat safari along the Rufiji River a peaceful and unforgettable way to spot hippos, crocodiles, vibrant birdlife, and maybe even elephants near the shoreline. And you will have your overnight at Selous Safari Lodge.
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you'll check out and be met by your driver for the transfer to the Mtemere Airstrip. From there, you'll board your return flight to Zanzibar. Once you land, another driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel or residence, wrapping up your safari adventure.
