This four days safari offers extensive wildlife viewing opportunities in Tanzania’s celebrated national parks. The tour starts at Lake Manyara National Park, famed for lions that climb trees and over 400 species of birds. Following this, the trip continues to two UNESCO World Heritage sites the Serengeti National Park, renowned for its endless grasslands, and the Ngorongoro Crater, celebrated for its remarkable wildlife diversity.
Your safari with Akika Adventure Tours begins with an early morning pick-up from your accommodation in Moshi following breakfast. You will then embark on a scenic drive of approximately three hours to Lake Manyara National Park, beautifully set at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is renowned for its remarkable biodiversity, particularly its abundant birdlife, with over 400 recorded species. Large flocks of flamingos, pelicans, storks, and cormorants can often be seen along the lake’s shores. Lake Manyara is also famous for its unique tree-climbing lions, frequently spotted resting on acacia branches. During your game drive, you may encounter a wide range of wildlife including elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and hippos. In the late afternoon, you will exit the park and proceed to your accommodation near Mto wa Mbu for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, your journey continues towards the world famous Serengeti National Park. En route, you will pass through Karatu and traverse the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, before descending onto the vast Serengeti plains. Established in 1951, the Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest national park and forms part of a larger ecosystem that supports the Great Migration—one of the most spectacular wildlife events on earth. This includes over a million wildebeest, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles. The park is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hyenas, and crocodiles. It is also one of the best places in Africa to observe predators, with large populations of lions, cheetahs, and leopards. After an afternoon game drive, you will proceed to your campsite in the central Seronera region for dinner and overnight.
Begin your day with a morning game drive in the Serengeti, maximizing your chances of witnessing wildlife activity during the cooler hours. Later, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, enjoying game viewing en route as you travel through this wildlife rich corridor. Upon arrival, you will ascend to the crater rim and check in at your accommodation. Overnight will be at Simba Camp, perched on the edge of the crater, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.
An early start offers the opportunity to witness a spectacular sunrise over the Ngorongoro Crater. After breakfast, you will descend approximately 600 meters into the crater for a half day game drive. The crater spans about 17–21 kilometers in diameter and hosts a dense population of wildlife, estimated between 15,000 and 25,000 animals. This unique ecosystem supports a high concentration of herbivores such as zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, and buffaloes, which in turn attract a large number of predators. Ngorongoro is renowned for offering one of the best opportunities in Africa to spot the “Big Five” lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and the endangered black rhino—within a relatively short period. In the afternoon, you will ascend the crater and begin your return journey to Moshi, marking the end of your unforgettable safari with Akika Adventure Tours.
Tarangire National Park is a scenic wildlife destination in northern Tanzania, known for its large elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, and the Tarangire River that attracts diverse animals throughout the year. The park features open savannahs and woodlands, offering excellent opportunities to spot lions, giraffes, zebras, and a wide variety of bird species.
